Committees

Committees are a great way to volunteer and contribute to Think Dignity’s mission and programs. Most committee memberships are a one-year term with options to renew. Below is a list of committees within Think Dignity with opportunities to join:

Think Dignity Communications Committee

Description
Think Dignity’s Communications Committee is responsible for the organization’s messaging and
branding as well as its public relations, press stories, and online and social media presence.


Duties
Committee membership is a one-year term with the option to renew. A committee position is an
excellent way to volunteer and decide whether a Board position is a good fit. The Committee meets
bi-monthly (by phone or zoom for foreseeable future) and is responsible for the following:

  • Website development coordination and content
  • Public relations (e.g., media training and coordination, press releases)
  • Marketing (e.g., collateral, ads, swag)
  • Social Media oversight
  • Branding/messaging
  • Creative Content (e.g., Think Dignity videos, photos, etc.)

Think Dignity Development Committee

Description
Think Dignity’s Development Committee supports the organization’s fiscal health through
philanthropy and development.


Duties
Committee membership is a one-year term with the option to renew. A committee position is an
excellent way to volunteer and decide whether a Board position is a good fit. The Committee meets
bi-monthly (by phone or zoom for foreseeable future) and is responsible for:

  • Identifying and writing grants
  • Identifying and courting donors
  • Planning donor appreciation events and writing thank-you notes
  • Soliciting planned giving
  • Making year-end asks
  • Support for fundraising endeavors

Think Dignity Operations & Finance Committee

Description
Think Dignity’s Operations & Finance Committee supports the organization in the areas of finance,
accounting, human resources, and information technology.


Duties
Committee membership is a one-year term with the option to renew. A committee position is an
excellent way to volunteer and decide whether a Board position is a good fit. The Committee meets
bi-monthly (by phone or zoom for foreseeable future) and is responsible for:

  • Finance and Accounting
  • IT and HR
  • Internal Controls
  • Governance and Compliance
  • Financial Statements
  • Develops Procedures for Administrative Management

Think Dignity Programs Committee

Description
Think Dignity’s Programs Committee ensures that the organization’s programs have a viable and
sustainable strategy, are sufficiently resourced, and are achieving their intended impact.


Duties
Committee membership is a one-year term with the option to renew. A committee position is an
excellent way to volunteer and decide whether a Board of Directors position is a good fit. The
Committee meets bi-monthly (by phone or zoom for foreseeable future) and is responsible for:

  • Volunteer recruitment
  • In-kind donation coordination
  • Liaison between Board and staff on program implementation
  • Assist with Summer and Winter Survival Distributions
  • Strategizing program roll-outs
