Our Transitional Storage Center (TSC) offers 400 lockers and bins for homeless individuals to safely store their personal belongings for an unlimited period of time, allowing them to use public transportation, work, attend appointments or classes, and participate in activities to support their transition out of homelessness.
The TSC was created in 2011 as a result of a settlement won against the City of San Diego, which involved homeless individuals whose belongings were wrongfully taken and destroyed by the City. We took over operations and management in 2012 and have since helped over 500 people gain employment and obtain housing with the support of the San Diego Housing Commission.
For prospective clients:
Please visit our TSC in-person during business hours with your ID to complete our intake forms and be added to our waitlist. After you receive a waitlist check-in card, you can check in with our TSC staff in-person to move up on our waitlist.
For current clients:
Please check in with TSC staff in-person at least once a week to maintain active status on your storage unit. If you have any special circumstances that prevent you from checking in weekly, our staff can work with you to arrange a more accommodating check-in schedule.
COVID-19 Safety Measures
To ensure the safety of our guests during the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are required and provided for all guests, volunteers, and staff on-site, regardless of vaccination status. All storage units and on-site facilities are also sanitized after every use.
