Homeless Youth Legal Advocacy Project Part-Time Staff Attorney

Think Dignity is a hands-on, grassroots, nonprofit that works advocating for the homeless. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and organize our community to advance basic dignity for those living on the streets.

As part of a new and innovative program Think Dignity is looking for a part-time staff attorney to directly represent indigent clients: specifically, homeless youth between the ages of 14-24.
Area of concentration will be in criminal defense issues.

Under supervision of the managing attorney, the volunteer attorney will conduct client interviews, court petitions, and appear at court on behalf of the homeless youth. 
Cultural sensitivity is required at all stages of the case.

In addition, weekly one-two hour staffing at the Think Dignity Legal Referral and Advocacy Clinic providing information and education directly to homeless people about legal services currently available to them will be required.

Staff attorney must possess a U.S. law degree (J.D.) and admission to the California State Bar; excellent oral and written communication skills; commitment to working with indigent clients.
No previous experience is required and this is a perfect opportunity for a bright, up and coming new attorney that is looking to seek experience within a non profit environment.
