A tax proposed to raise funds to help 600 homeless families in Kalamazoo County has been approved, according to unofficial results.

The Kalamazoo County Local Housing Assistance Fund Millage was approved in Nov. 3 balloting, with 18,971 votes cast in favor and 14,639 against.
