Mobile Operations of Dignity (MOD): Street Cafe

Launched in 2018 as the third program of our Mobile Operations of Dignity (MOD) Squad, our Street Café provides nutritious meal options to people experiencing homelessness in San Diego County. The Street Café aims to address nutrition insecurity to combat nutrition-related health issues and enhance emotional and mental well-being.

Our Process

The Street Café offers a menu with fresh meals, an assortment of fruits, bread, snacks, hot drinks (coffee, tea, cocoa), and bottled water through the support of the San Diego Food Bank and Feeding San Diego. Guests can order their preferred meals for free on a first-come, first-serve basis and also receive a resource packet on nearby food distribution sites and healthy meal options that can be purchased at local restaurants with CalFresh benefits.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

To ensure the safety of our guests, masks and social distancing are recommended on-site, regardless of vaccination status. All Street Café events are held outdoors to provide adequate spacing and air filtration.
